The footballer Fabrice Muamba, currently in hospital after he collapsed o the pitch last week, is the son of a political refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Here we have an ‘asylum seeker’ who has worked damned hard, contributed a huge amount to his new home and conducted himself like an utter gentleman throughout.
